first snow!

today is the first real snow of the year! ran around with su and baruch and got attacked by phil's snowballs. everything is brighter but a little bit difficult to maneuver in. beautiful and white... suppose we have to sacrifice a little for aesthetics. sacrifice? $200 november heating bill. a parent in the studio tells me their heating bill was $200 for the month also. they have an enormous three floor house. we have only one! this information inspires us to more extreme and spartan measures. my roommate jill is from michigan and has boots that reach her knees. warmth in the house is discouraged with a raised brow and a gentle criticism of my lack of long underwear. gonna have to get tough this winter. we don't live in pakistan but i feel like i've definitely left the comforts of the states...
